Did you have any success in servicing the main manual furler? If so, please share any insight for disassembly.
Thanks,

Thank you very much for the details and exactly what I'm looking for. I've removed the furler from the mast along with the 4 hex cap stainless screws. Separating the gear box into separate parts is my next challenge as the gear box is not coming apart easily. Soaking with penetrating oil now and will continue to try and easily dissemble. It is very clogged up inside as it was difficult to furl the main and the key reason for servicing the furler. Thank you again for the detailed procedures!

Thank you for the insight. I've successfully disassembled both manual furler's and we are having challenges in replacing the cone bearing. The main shaft on the manual furler has a Cone Roller Bearing with a race on the shaft. Once disassembled, the roller bearing was deteriorated and needs to be replaced. However, the race on the shaft is proving difficult to remove by the machine shop. With the proximity to the gear along with safeguarding the shaft, we are hesitant to apply to much pressure on the press.
Can anyone confirm that the race must be removed or is there a type of cone bearing that can be used with the existing race?
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I did a maintenance blog a few years ago about servicing the main manual gearbox if it helps: https://youtu.be/rhX1Ew2yxbQ
Also electric gearboxes here: https://youtu.be/D_YMk_5JNRI
Having had endless problems with the furlers over the years I teamed up with Bryce Bindon on Ying Yang in New Zealand and we (him mostly!) rebuild the system from scratch using a VF44 Bonfilglioli and 24v Clima motor (with a few modifications) at a VERY reasonable price.
I'll do a maintenance blog on it once I've completed the current job of rebuilding our upper C-drive :/
