blogs
I keep a blog of my sailing trips for which I use the Sailblogs service. I find it very hard to use. I like to post pictures and it's a very involved to do that and countless things can go wrong and some usually do. So I'm looking for a replacement service that's easy to use. I'm dreaming about copying the Word version, including pictures, by using Ctrl C and Ctrl P to paste it into a web window. Is there such a service? If so, I'd very much appreciate hearing about it. Cheers.

I think this might be
a case of, you get what you pay for. I have used Wordpress
forever. It is user-friendly, and the support is first-rate.
When I first started my blog, I had zero experience with
online publishing. It took very little time to create
something I was happy with. On 8/14/2022 8:02 AM, Joerg Esdorn via

I agree with you about Sailblogs and prior to that one we used Getjealous.com. We previously used rhose and then switched to Google: www.blogger.com This is that blog: www.svbebe.com Bill

I should add that I
use DreamHost for the domain. The two work very well together.

Hi Joerg: I will second Bill’s endorsement of Blogger.com It’s very easy to use for us luddites, and was recommended to us by a programmer friend. The friend is familiar with our tech abilities and pointed us in the right direction ;) Our blog is at: stulana.blogspot.com It’s mostly drag and drop and the set up is very straight forward. I’m not sure about cutting and pasting word documents, but it’s worth a shot. Stu Holmes SM 373 Oyai Currently in Porto di Roma, Italy On Aug 14, 2022, at 8:34 PM, Mark Erdos <mcerdos@...> wrote:

Joerg,
We use the App POLARSTEPS since we started our circumnavigation and find it pretty simple to post photos and short videos and comments.

Thanks everyone for the input. Would you mind walking me through what it takes to create your blog, text, pictures and if possible videos?

One of the nice features of a Wordpress blog is the ability to post a blog entry via email. You compose a blog post containing text and photos without the need of interacting with a web site. You then email the post to a special email address and it gets automatically posted. If using a slow connection like an Iridium phone at sea, this is a very useful arrangement.
