Hello all. So BoatUS/Geico just announced that they will no longer provide coverage in the Bahamas, Mexico and Caribbean from June 1 to November 1st. After speaking with them, they also said that they will not provide coverage outside of the Bahamas without 3 crew members onboard not including the captain plus they have an separate "cruising Application" for coverage. (questions regarding experience, rigging inspection and rigging age etc.

So my question for any Amel owners sailing in the Caribbean on US flagged vessels, which insurance company have you selected and are you happy  with them?

Arlo,

After Pantaneous USA left the marine market, we did a deep dive for insurance.  It was extremely frustrating, because we found that our Pantaneous policy was better than almost anything else on the US market. I have to say, shopping for insurance is one of the least pleasant exercises in the boating world. Here are links to some of the things we found:

We ended up with the Jackline policy underwritten by Markel.  Our broker was the Gowrie Group.  It is by no means the cheapest policy out there, but was the only policy we found that checked all our boxes.  Everybody has different boxes, and there is no one policy that works for everybody.

Good luck!
