Furuno 711 navpilot compass offset adjustment.

We’ve been through the manual and can’t find our way to adjusting the steering compass.

you have to adjust the steering compass ( Furuno PG-500/700 etc) . You will find the details in downloaded manual.

We tried, but we still can’t find our way into the setup/installation menus. The manual gives no instructions on how to do this.

Do you have a Radar overlay over the chart in the plotter? I had the same problem but the Furuno technician adjusted it to make in correct

i think we’re have found a way into the installation menu. We are underway at the moment and will try it when we reach Leuca.

Hi Matt, what are you checking the heading against. If it is the fitted compass, have you had it swung (ie adjusted for error)

Are you attempting to adjust the COMPASS OFFSET? If it were me, I would go through 3.0 "Initial Setup" and 3.10 "Sea Trial" in the following manual. In the past Puchon did not always activate all of the features available on installed navigation electronics.

Just a suggestion:
Maybe your chart plotter is more accurate than you think. Maybe you are seeing Leeway Angle. 
The following illustration is about the Amel 50's big sister, but the logic applies. Your Amel 50 will almost never be pointed (HDG) to the COG, unless you are motoring.
