A54 portside cable rout from engine room to aft locker

Hi guys,
did anybody do this?
I need to put the cable from engine room to aft locker by the port side.

There is the easy path like shore power cable goes. But there is something uncertain between the aft toilet and engine room wall.
Any experience?

Thank you!

Hi Gregory,

I run 4 cables for solar panels on port side from aft lazaret to engine room.

Start from lazaret through plastic pipe, but when you reach cabinet in aft head ( above toilet ) you need to move cables from close to the hull to the wooden piece ( with cables on top of it ) that is close to the cabinet door. If you open a cover from black water tank you will see that wood and it’s continue in cabinet. In order to do that you need to open the celling cover in cabinet. After you finish you can glue it back.

Once you pass that curve in aft head cabinet follow the wood and you go strait in engine room.

Best Regards,

Vladan

Hi Vladan,

Sounds great! But in my hull after black water tank section there is a plywood wall (which is distant from engine room wall) with a hole were cables go to.

Then, I cam see shore power cable in the engine room coming out of its wall.

I try to distinguish what is there between them - this plywood wall in the black water tank section and the wall of engine room.

How to take out the maine mirror wall plate in the aft head? It will open the full access to the path.

Thanks!

Greg

Hi Gregory,

Attached is photo taken from black water compartment. Those two black cables on the right side of the photo are the ones I run.

You are right as the hole that shore power and other cables come from engine room is just behind mirrors wall but it’s only a few centimeters from black water tank compartment and it’s reachable by hand. If you push your new cable in that hole it will end in engine room in a corner, behind blower. You might need to dig through insulation to find it. If you are not sure that on your boat is same you can always try to run through that hole wire puling cable or something else to see what is happening.

For sure I didn’t dismantle wooden wall that holds mirrors and to be honest I don’t think that is easy task if possible at all.

Best Regards,

Thx Vladan,

In my case this looks slightly different and the hole in the wall leads to portside locker.

Finally, it was much easier to go through portside locker by the main cables path.

Thanks a lot anyway.

Mission accomplished.
