Photos of Kimberlites Bowsprit

I had this made in St Maarten.

It is held in with a large socket head SS cap screw. When not in use I put it in the port cockpit locker.

Hi Eric,
Do you have a photo or drawings of that bowsprit?

Nice minimalistic solution. How long do you use it? Is it strong enough? as I understand there is no welding for the main SS tube?

Eric Freedman

I have had it up as long as 7 days straight x 24 hours.

It is not a SS tube is a solid aluminum rod about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.

It mounts to a SS thick wall tube. It has a Harken swivel block on the end .

Hi,

I have been away sorry for the late response.

The hollow SS tubing in the photo is welded to a plate and is bolted down as in the photo attached.

There is a vertical piece of square rod welded inside the tubing at the aft end of the tubing. That mates up with a slot cut in the solid aluminum round stock to index it. This is held in place with a hex head cap screw also shown in the photo. It is so easy to remove that we keep it in the port locker when we are not using it.
