Starlink
I think it’s happening much more quickly than you think: https://www.facebook.com/groups/starlinkonboats/permalink/1207509463134390/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/starlinkonboats/permalink/1205971216621548/ |

Hawaiian Airlines is supposed to offer it for free on flights from California to Hawaii in 2023. My admittedly old electronic charts shows an ocean between those two locations. :)
https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/hawaiian-airlines-signs-deal-with-musks-starlink-on-flight-internet-2022-04-25/ That probably means you'll get it on the maritime (5k per month!!) plan. Right now, it seems the standard RV plan is not geofenced to coastal locations, but Elon might change his mind. -- Scott 2007 A54 #69 SV Tengah http://www.svtengah.com |

Join the Starlink for Boats Facebook page. Several reports of Starlink working all the way from Chesapeake Bay to St. Thomas. Also 500 miles east of the Windward islands. Also much of the way from California to Hawaii. Ocean coverage is happening more quickly than first anticipated. ours has worked continuously from Greece to Sicily. Starlink, so far, is truly a game changer. |

Starlink does look like a game changer.
Looking at the coverage maps provided by Starlink. It seams there is no open ocean coverage. Does anyone have practical experience of reception mid ocean? Nick S/Y Amelia AML 54-019 Leros GR |
