Eric,

On that label it looks like the DTG12, a 12,000 BTU model?

That’s one of the ones on my short list.   I haven’t been able to get a quote for it yet.  Dometic has a million dealers, but not all of them carry this particular line, which I think Dometic picked up when they bought MaireAir.

Hi Bill,

I installed a 10K btu Dometic 50/60 cycle unit in the saloon. It took me 3 hours.

You just have to remove the board and foam  that the old AC unit was mounted on.

It might be time for us to replace our saloon air conditioner.    This is a difficult fitment.  It needs to be no more than 12" (305 mm) high, which takes a lot of units out of the running.  Mermaid in Florida used to make one, but they have recently gone under.

Our current unit is 9,000 BTU and that is adequate--just--for the application.  I'd like to have a 10,000 if one can be had that will possibly fit.  And while I am dreaming, it should also operate on 50 or 60 Hz, and be a reverse cycle to heat as well as cool.

It looks like Westabo makes an 8000 BTU model (The S8) that checks all the boxes.  Has anybody found something else they like for this application? Or maybe a clever mounting trick that gains an extra centimeter or two of vertical space?
