Introduction, Sale of Kristy
Hi and Happy New Year to all.
It is with mixed emotions that I tell you of the sale of Kristy to Wolf and Lisa Guenthert, from Houston, TX. They are relatively new to sailing and SM243 is their first boat and sailboat. She is winterized on the hard in Oxford MD until they return in the Spring, when I will spend a week or so with them going over all her systems, maintenance, etc. Please welcome Wolf and Lisa to the Amel family. I am sure that you will find them pleasant sailing friends , eager to learn from you as I have done for the last 15 years. Iris and I will turn the page and do some bareboat chartering, and fly fishing for bonefish, traveling in the Winters. We plan to spend this Winter in Belize. She will continue to run her charter business in the Summers, and I will build small rowing/sailing/paddling boats, grow a vegetable garden, and volunteer at the Maritime Museum. Please do let us know if/when you are in St Michaels, MD, we would love to visit and catch up I can't thank you all enough for your invaluable help in learning how to sail and care for Kristy. Without you I would have given up after a year. You took me by the hand and led me through the maze of wires and pumps and diesel machinations with the patience of loving parents. Your kindness and friendship will always be remembered as a great part of owning my Amel. Happy 2023, may the seas be with you, the wind be aft of the bean, the fish be biting, and the beer,/wine/rum flow freely. Be safe, Have fun, Sail fast! Kent & Iris KRISTY

Dear Kent,
I had to read that twice, I couldn't believe my eyes. But, it for you and Iris to decide when and where to swallow the anchor. Thank you so much for the many exchanges of information and knowledge that we have shared and good luck and health in the years ahead. Fair Winds & warmest regards, Trevor Lusty Ireland |

Though I knew you planned on parting with Kristy, I thought you would stay with her a bit more. I enjoyed every minute spent with you two last summer in Maine. Should you miss sailing next summer, and I trust you will, Alibi will open her sails for you. You would be more than welcome. Kindest regards and best wishes for 2023. Clément Alibi, SN # 74

Thank you Kent for the kind introduction. Lisa and I are very lucky to have found Kristy; and you willing to teach and help us on our feet made all the difference! Can't wait to see you and Iris in the spring.

Kent and Iris,
It is with mixed emotions that we received your news as well. Anna Marie and I so enjoyed getting to know the both of you in St Michaels a couple years ago. You were both so welcoming and helpful, your hosting the whole Amel gathering, and the sail on Selina with our oldest and his girl was a very special and gracious treat. Your future plans sound inviting and stress free. We will most certainly look you both up the next time we are in the area. All the best to you both, Paul and Anna Marie SM #466 - s/v Rita Kathryn Puerto del Rey - Puerto Rico RitaKathryn.com |
