Replacement for heads flush pump

Eloi Bamberg

With the original mounts, there is room for one pump with pressure switch and one without. I had to trie it out when one of the pumps start leaking.

Neil,

Think about that. The switched version could be used as an emergency backup for the anchor wash and freshwater. The switched version would never switch off using it on the toilet.

Ah, thanks Bill - yes I hadn’t twigged that Jabsco sell the same pump with or without the pressure switch. Looks like I can get the non switched version still which should be simpler. Thanks!

The original pump on BeBe SM 387 was Jabsco 31631-0094 Parmax4

I think the Parmax 3 will work fine, but I am not 100% sure.

Thanks Bill that is really helpful. Interesting you mention the par max 3 - our local chandlery has this in stock with an 11l/hr output and for half the price, but I had assumed this would be inadequate. Should this cheaper pump be fine also in that case?

Any of the Jabsco Parmax 3 or 4 24v pumps will work. Most have a pressure switch to use as a pressure pump for saltwater or freshwater. The original pump Amel used was the same pump without the pressure switch (the blue thing on the end).

I believe the pressure switch will not interfere with the original mounts, but if it does, there is room to adjust the mounts. This pump has identical quick connect/disconnect hose fittings.

If necessary this pump is a good backup for the freshwater or anchor wash pump.

The pump internal pump parts are exactly the same between Parmax 3 & Parmax 4. I assume the motor is different.

The seawater flush pump for our heads has failed; I will try to rebuild it but want to have a working spare in addition.

We currently have the same Jabsco model 31631 - 0094 as shown in Bill’s book but this now appears to have been discontinued

looking for an alternative I’ve found this which seems to meet the same key specs:

https://www.svb24.com/en/jabsco-par-max-hd4-pressurised-water-pump-24-v-15-l-min-1-7-bar.html

Can anyone confirm whether this would be a suitable replacement or not?

Thanks
