rubbing strake damage Amel 54

Martin Birkhoff

Good morning all

returning to Mago del Sur after two month we discovered the rubbing strake damaged by a neighbouring boat.

Is there a sectional drawing of the rubrail including the hull-deck joint available?
Is the rubbing strake made of GRP and gelcoat like the hull, or is it a different material. It seems to me that the material is "softer" than the hull material?

Are there any important hints for the repair?

Many thanks

Because I own a Sharki only I cannot help, but this drawing seems to be for a SuperMaramu perhaps?
Don't know if Amel changes a lot since then.

I have recently created a new rub rail for my Maramu.  I did it at TecnoRubber in Miami.  Mold is paid for so anyone can contact them and get one.  Have them send you a drawing as I put abit more rubber in the molding to give it a better chance of preventing hull damage with a good bump.  I have already paid for the die so if you order one it would be a nice jester if you order one to pay some for the mold cost which was pricey.
