Fire extinguishers for LiFePO4 battery fire

Joerg Esdorn

Has anyone with LiFEPO4 batteries on board researched the need for specialized fire extinguishers for a battery fire?  Best I can tell is that a class D extinguisher is not necessary as the batteries contain very little Lithium.  So according to what I have found, water or a standard ABC or CO2 extinguisher all work.  Anyone have different information?

No I confirm but you have to be ok with the permanent follow on with alarms for temperature check of each battery
