Amelia 54 Goiot opening port holes
Hi Arno, hi Nick and Amelia’s
The replacement of the Acrylic on my A54 Goiot port lite are due to replace. Who did changed them already and where you found the best place to buy?
Arno, did you sourced them directly from Goiot? How was the job to replace them? Easy task or complicated?
Thanks and best regards

I just replaced most of mine.
Goiot wants an insane amount for their precut portlight acrylics. I recall something on the order of 300 euros EACH. For the acrylic itself, they simply don't sell 8mm gray tint here in NZ so I bought those from the UK from Simply Plastics. I did not replace the acrylic in the aft head portlight. Details below: 8mm Grey 9T20 Tinted Acrylic:
440mm x 190mm
Q7.00 13.66each No VAT 95.62gbp
8mm Grey 9T20 Tinted Acrylic:
340mm x 140mm
-- Q3.00 10.61each No VAT 31.83gbp The sizing on the acrylic I purchased was slightly larger than the actual acrylic on the portlights. Then I removed the existing portlight acrylic, brought it to a local glass/acrylic shop and they cut it precisely the same size. The total cost of the 10 acrylic material and the cutting was less than the cost of a single acrylic from Goiot. The round seals I bought from Caraibe Marine a few years ago, but it's just 8mm (I think?) round foam seals. No need to have them packaged in a Goiot bag and pay 5x the price. As mentioned earlier on the FB group, I replaced the plastic friction piece for 14 gbp delivered for 20 of them. SVB sells the Goiot branded ones if you want, but it's considerably more expensive). I didn't need to replace any clamps. Here are some suggestions for the glue: Which Sealant to Use - HatchMasters I used Bostik V60 as the local shop here in NZ tells me they've done multiple repairs recently due to Dow 795 failing. Either way, they're structural silicones. Replacement isn't incredibly difficult, just time consuming. Goiot has an instruction sheet out there, but if you can't find it, I can try to describe the process for you. Scott 2007 A54 #69 SV Tengah http://www.svtengah.com |

Hi Ruedi, Below is the list of all you need and price for all the Goiot Portlights from a UK distributor. I got them all direct from Goiot in France. Didn't use the UK distributor. Work was not difficult. Everything supplied by Goiot was very easy to use and did the job, no leaks and lovely clear windows. Let's post this great information without criticizing Goiot, a quality manufacturer and longtime supplier to Amel. I understand how this makes you feel. I am sure Volvo owners feel the same about Volvo parts. I know I do! Bill
