Dessalator control panel product site glass
Hello Amelians, As I increase the pressure regulator I started noticing a stream of water running out of the top of the site glass. I shut the unit down and removed the control panel and re taped and then tightened all of the water fitting connections. Fired unit back up and still have the water leak. It appears to be flowing out of the top of the sealed sight glass….? |

Kevin, I have not seen the Dessalator Flowmeter outside of the control panel, but I have seen others. They generally have a glued or threaded top. Before you order a new one, check what you have. They all have threaded IN & OUT connections. I would really like a photo. You can find liquid flowmeters in a lot of places including Amazon.

Had the same issue on my Dessolator site glass. Martin , in Spain had the answer. If you have the glass flowmeter and not the plastic one you are in luck. Simply Remove the sight glass panel from the panel and you will see there are o rings on either end of the glass. Clean up any dirt or corrosion, replace the o rings and you are back in business. Hi,
I have had almost exactly this same issue except the product water was exiting at the bottom of the flow meter glass because it had shattered as in the picture. I found replacement glass inserts with float directly from CT Platon in France - received them about a week ago. 77 euros each, min qty of 2 - a fix and a spare. Contact Stephan Liquard at CT Platon: s.liquard@... All your o-rings should be lubricated using food grade silicon grease before inserting and re-assembling. Also be aware that the plastic solenoid valve threaded inlet from the flow meter that directs the product either overboard or into the tank is susceptible to leaking also IF the system has been worked on previously as is the case with mine. Many thanks to all the very helpful comment, suggestion for this problem. Upon further investigation I found that my site glass is cracked. Per Tony’s post, I’ve emailed Stephan at CT Platon for replacement glass.
