electric tv lifting mechanism for A54

Hi Amelians

I would like to replace the TV in the salon on my A54 and looking for a new electric tv lifting mechanism. Did anyone replace the tv electric mechanism and could advise me what model is suitable for it?

I replaced the lifting actuator device with an exact duplicate I found on EBay. It had a gear inside that failed and I could not get it open to repair. 
The following season the control box failed and there weren’t any replacements available. So I took out the circuit board and removed the capacitors and replaced them with new ones and it works now for two more years. 
The old capacitors were degraded a bit when I measured them but not completely failed and no signs of damage when you looked at them.  I believe the capacitors were causing the fuse to blow occasionally as well.

Dear Doug,
   I too would like to replace the lift mechanism for my A54 TV.  I checked the circuit and am getting power to the lift motor, but it will not activate in either direction.  It was stated that a replacement was found on ebay.  Could you please provide specs used for the search?

My lifting component was the Linak DL 400, and I searched Ebay for that.  Looking right now, I don’t see any matching that part.  If you think the lifting mechanical actuator is functional, check the capacitors, and just remove and resolder in a new pair.  I was seeing my control board, which has two small relays moving, (making and breaking contacts) but not getting a lifting from the actuator.  Turned out the capacitors where too weak to kick the motor on and create lifting or lowering.

Thanks a lot. The LINAK DL 400 is only the motor part. I would like to buy the complete TV lift. The one that is installed on my boat is old and too small for a new TV. 
Do you have maybe the model of the complete TV lift? or did AMEL build it?

I believe it was a unit that was sold in total.  The actuator was the Linak DL400, and the controller, I believe was a Linak CBD4 control box.  Not at the boat, but it controlled the DL 400, and was 220VAC powered.

I don’t think these are highly sophisticated devices and suspect Amel may have a replacement or a local marine tradesman might. If that isn’t an option, find a Linak distributor, since they can get you sorted out.
