Introduction: new owner of Amel Sharki N° 68 of 1982 Manua

Marco Baldan

Dear fellow Amel owners,

Here I am, happy new owner of a 1982 Amel Sharki, the N° 68, named Manua.
My name is Marco Baldan and I am a humanitarian surgeon from Venice-Italy, with a strong passion for sailing life.
After multiple sailing experiences on friends boats, in 2011 I purchased in Holland a 27 feet Albin Vega that I upgraded for single-handed sailing and sailed, mostly alone from Holland to Italy in 2012. I eventually described this boat and the adventures I had with her in a book: The long route of the Spray and almost all I have discovered about this fantastic sailing boat: https://maredicarta.com/.../the-long-route-of.../t/170256
With the expansion of my family and my sailing ambitions, some two years ago, I started looking for more comfortable and larger blue water sailboats and read about the Amel Sharki. Thought this could be the right boat for me and looked for one to sail as a crew. Joined Manua on the Aegean Sea last year and got convinced so started searching the web for Sharki units for sale (at that time Manua was not for sale). Luckily for me, the previous owner contacted me earlier this year to inform me about his decision to sell her. Thanks to him, I could familiarize with Manua over some 10 weeks aboard and, after a survey by Olivier Beautè confirming the good conditions of the unit, I became her new happy owner :-)
Below the 2018 sale web page: I had joined the Amel Yacht Owners Group about two years ago and here found plenty of useful information that led me to becoming an Amel Sharki owner: thanks to you all!

Fair winds and merry Christmas,
Marco Baldan

Hello Marco,

Welcome to the Amel family. We , too, started our sailing with a Vega, which we loved. Then we discovered Amel and our first Amel was a Sharki which we loved even more !. Your video brought back happy memories.
