Iskra 24v 2kw motor for SM Genoa

Does anyone have the part number for this motor, now no longer made by Iskra ?

I am corresponding with a supplier who claims to have an alternative motor but I need to make sure that he is quoting against the precise Iskra model. I don't want to open the casing on our boat unless I need to.

Our own motor is working happily after 22 years but I would like to have a spare.

Our motor on SM 373 was made by CIMA from Italy. See photo. Code: 30552, Number 01779.  All of the notations written on the motor are below:

CODE:  30552
No:  01779
V: 24
A: 60
IP: 56
RPM:  3200
ROT: R/L

 I contacted CIMA and they only take orders for 100 units or more. 

Bill R’s idea of finding a compatible 24v windlass motor is intriguing. It may be just that simple. My motor is out for repairs at the moment, but once I get it back, I can take measurements and photos.

As a matter of interest, what was wrong with your motor and where are you having it repaired ?  As you say, it may be that an alternative  to the  original motor is readily available. It will be good to know the exact dimensions, including where the key is on the shaft and the dimensions of the key.

Hello Bill,

I am in Slovenia where originally is ISKRA from. I made a phone call to general distributor of Mahle DC electromotors, and I need a confirmation of the ISKRA code number as from photo I am not sure. Original code from Iskra was AMJ4725, Mahle code for the same product is 11.216.049. Can you confirm the original Iskra product number? They have 3 on stock.
