Iskra electric motor for a Supermaramu genoa

ianjenkins1946 <ianjudyjenkins@hotmail.com>

I would like to have a spare motor for my genoa. Iskra no longer manufacture their 24v 2kw motor but there are suppliers who claim to have alternatives. One is Rotating Electrics Ltd in Northern Ireland ( who only ship to UK and Eire ).

They claim that an HC-Cargo product, code no. 112575, is a replacement for the Iskra MAHMM294   112575.
It seems to have  a splined drive shaft, rather than a driveshaft with a key.  Cost is £283.

Does anyone know the code number for the Iskra motors that we have and whether the drive shaft connects with a splined shaft or a key ?

Rotating Electronics also have a repair service , as no doubt do others, but reliable firms who rebuild electric motors in Europe are a vanishing breed.
