Outhaul high current problem

Two of the A55 in Australia had the same issues, couldn’t furl or unfurl the main with any pressure or the re settable  fuse would open for 5 seconds and alarm, the cause was not electrical but an over tight outhaul rope, the rope seemed to shrink and tighten over time, especially when exposed to salt water drenching and drying and little rain to wash out the salt. Fix was to loosen the rope, furling back to normal.

That’s the joy of sailing southern Australia in summer, strong winds high seas and little rain.
