What is this for?

Slavko Despotovic

I found this wooden part in front and aft head. Any idea what is this for and where it is mounted. Sorry I feel stupid but can not figure out where to use it.

Thank you.

It is to get a foot support when you are sitting on the toilet and the boat is healing.

You attach in to the teak floor (don’t lnow the proper name of it)

Ann-Sofie,

Great, thank you. Would never figure it out. Very much appreciated.

All the best,

Slavko

These are foot rests that encourage one to be able to better brace
themselves when using the marine toilet.
They fit into the teak grate over the shower sump.
Anecdotal rumor suggests Captain Amel was launched from the throne into the hanging locker opposite to starboard by an unexpected lurch and then crafted these foot rests...

Joel,
If nothing else, this is a great reason to buy Amel. You made my day.
Thank you,

Indeed, both the foot rests and the water tank gauge impressed me so much when I first viewed an Amel that I figured that a lot of other things were equally clever and well engineered. And that has been the case.

It is for you to put your feet on when the boat is heeled over and you need to sit on a toilet.

It anchors in the wooden floor grid.

A post like this, just isn't complete without a photo/photos of the subject item, being demonstrated.....

Slavko,

if you sit on your throne you can position the foot rest by inserting it into the holes in the shower grate based on your height, in case you need when the boat is heeling.

It is an at sea foot rest for when you are sitting on the head. It slots into the grill on the floor. Adjust to your leg length. Henri thinks of every need.
